On June 7th, The Shim Sham Shimmy rolled into the Salt Box in Kingston on time—the first Saturday of the month. Hosted by DJ Pete Pop and eternal guest DJ Phast Phreddie the Boogaloo Omnibus, it was a gas! These two cats played cat music, bop music, hot rock’n’roll, jumpin’ blues and all sorts of reet jams that go WHAM! in the night!!!

A bunch of folks showed up to swing and the upstairs rumpus room was rockin’! Pete Pop played some fantastic R&B tracks and the Phast Man jammed with wild rockabilly and doo wop. Both of them played terrific New Orleans records in order to please Big Tom, the bartender—a cat who spends as much time in the Crescent City as possible.
