As November was ending, Phast Phreddie the Boogaloo Omnibus glanced at his calendar and noted that the only DJ gig he had in December was the WHAM-O WATUSI on the second. He figured that, once that was over, he would be able unlax for the rest of the year. But that was not to be. Before you know it, folks were calling for his unique Boogaloo action at their events and clubs. Suddenly, he had four more gigs in less than two weeks!
That’s OK, the Phast Man is a trooper and digs playing his records for folks to enjoy. The last of these gigs took place on December 18 at the Jupiter Disco–another installment of the Stormy Monday series of groovy DJ nights.

DJ Xerox visits with Phast Phreddie the Boogaloo Omnibus at the Jupiter Lounge.
We’ve got to state here that Jupiter Disco is the best-named new bar in town. Over the last several years, a LOT of new bars and clubs have opened that are really well appointed, beautifully designed, with good sound systems and with excellent selections of beverages, but they have names that are dull, unimaginative and forgettable. Just about any reference to outer space is a winner. Remember the Satellite Lounge? What a cool name, but, unfortunately, a crappy bar–unless you liked pinball.
Another reason the Boogaloo Bag writers dig the Jupe is that it is around the corner from our favorite new taqueria, Los Hombres. Before every gig at the Jupiter Disco, Phast Phreddie the Boogaloo Omnibus and the Bag’s official photographer Nancy “Jeannie” Gardner dine on tacos and/or quesadillas at this authentic Mexican eatery.
Speaking of Miss Nancy, she brought along some excellent shortbread cookies, garnished with caramel and dark chocolate. Her edible creations augmented Phast Phreddie’s audio delicacies perfectly. Come to a gig, dance, drink, eat cookies. Yum!

Miss Nancy’s cookies!!
